Open a news site and FlowReader turns its front page into a list of what’s new. The ads, autoplay videos and sign-up pop-ups are gone. Your RSS feeds sit beside it. Hacker News and Lobsters open with their comment threads one click away.

A long article you want to read properly later

Press ⌘⇧E (Ctrl+Shift+E) in the browser, and the page is in your library, stripped to the text. To keep only part of it, select that passage first.

When you need to read up on something properly

Search arXiv by title, author or abstract, and open a paper straight in the reader. PDFs, Word files, ebooks and comics from your computer open the same way. You can also pull in books from online catalogues, such as Project Gutenberg or your own Calibre library.

A serial you follow, chapter by chapter

A Royal Road serial comes in as one book with a real table of contents, and new chapters arrive as chapters. EPUBs keep their chapters too. FlowReader remembers the chapter and the line where you stopped.

Newsletters you never get round to in your mailbox

Subscribe with a private FlowReader address instead of your own. Each issue then arrives in your library, next to your articles and books. You can turn an address off or block a sender at any time.

Years of saved articles in another app

Export them from Pocket, Omnivore, Readwise, Raindrop or Instapaper and import the file. Titles, tags, folders, highlights and notes come along. The articles join the same search as everything else.
